Pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), the proposed project qualifies for a Class 1 Categorical Exemption under Section 15301, which exempts operation, permitting, or minor alteration of existing, public or private structures, facilities, or mechanical equipment involving negligible or no expansion of existing or former use. This exemption applies to the existing monopole and the existing equipment enclosure. The project will not result in significant environmental impacts and does not require mitigation measures, as it will be carried out within an existing equipment enclosure located at a developed urban recreational park that does not contain environmentally sensitive areas. Thus, no further environmental documentation or analysis is required.
