Reasons for Exemption
Pursuant to Section 15304, Class 4 consists of minor alterations of vegetation which do not involve removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees on public or private land. The project involves removal of non-scenic juniper, brush species, seedling and saplings, grasses and forbs, and dead and dying trees. Pursuant to Section 15308, Class 8 consists of actions by regulatory agencies for protection of the environment. The project would ensure the maintenance and protection of the environment by increasing fire resiliency through fuel reduction.
