Zoning Clearance for the demolition of 5 abandoned buildings on the Boeing Company's property at the Santa Susana Field Laboratory (SSFL), located at 5800 Woolsey Canyon Road in the unincorporated area of Simi Valley. The subject property covers approximately 2,400 acres and the demolition work is located on APN 685-0-051-180, a 403.35-acre parcel for tax purposes only. The demolition work is confined to the area identified as Area IV within APN 685-0-051-180.
The following structures are proposed to be demolished:

44-055 abandoned industrial bldg. 13,300 sq. ft.
44-155 abandoned breakroom bldg. 490 sq. ft.
44-009 abandoned industrial bldg. 14,000 sq. ft.
44-11 abandoned industrial bldg. 4,500 sq. ft.
Total: 40,490 sq. ft.
The demolition involves the removal of the above ground portions of the five Boeing-owned building structures. No foundations will be removed, and no subsurface work will be performed. This project is not part of the California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) remediation project at SSFL, and neither DTSC nor the California Department of Public Health have authority over the removal of the structures. In addition, the structures to be removed are not part of Department of Energy (DOE) building removal project. This is not a federal action of any sort. Boeing previously received zoning clearances for other Boeing-owned structures in this area of SSFL from the County.
Stormwater protection measures are illustrated on the submitted plans that show the use of erosion control fiber roll in certain areas around the demolition work.
