This project will add a raised center landscaped median, curbs and gutters along approximately 2,500 feet of Magic Mountain Parkway between Tourney Road and Avignon Drive to enhance safety and add visual appeal, and will construct an asphalt concrete overlay over approximately 5,750 linear feet of Magic Mountain Pkwy. between Tourney Rd. and McBean Pkwy. The project will include up to 4,050 linear feet of sidewalks and perform other minor activities in support of the project.

Categorical Exemption: 14 CCR Section 15301, the project is exempt under a Class 1 exemption which includes repairs and maintenance to existing highways and streets, minor alteration of existing public facilities, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of existing or former use and does not create additional automobile lanes. Also exempt is the addition of safety protection devices in conjunction with existing facilities. The project meets these criteria because it proposes to construct raised landscaped medians, curbs and gutters, sidewalks, perform roadway rehabilitation improvements, and other minor activities in support of the project on an existing street within existing right of way and to improve public safety.
