Document Description
A Fire Damage Repair Project along WB I-8 3 miles east of Ribbonwood Road in San Diego County. Project work consists of replacing the damaged pavement, partial drainage system (including OSD), culvert, and embankment in kind to current standards. Geosynthetic rock baskets will be added. Dike and guardrail installation will occur.

Reasons for Exemption
The project consists of replacement or reconstruction of existing structures and facilities where the new structure will be located on the same site as the structure replaced and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the structure replaced. Specifically, Caltrans is replacing pavement and drainage systems damaged by a fire and reconstructing the shoulder to include dike and guardrail. The shoulder will have the same purpose and capacity as before.
