Document Description
The Venta Spur/JOST Pedestrian Bridge Project (Project) would reconstruct the existing Venta Spur Trail alignment west of Jeffrey Road and construction a new pedestrian and bicycle bridge over Jeffrey Road in the City of Irvine. The Project location is at the existing Venta Spur trail at-grade intersection on the west side of Jeffrey Road located mid-block between Bryan Avenue intersection to the south and the Irvine Boulevard intersection to the north. The Project would connect the existing Venta Spur Trail to the Jeffrey Open Space Trail (JOST) east of and parallel to Jeffrey Road.

The project would meet the applicable criteria for the Class 3 categorical exemption covering new construction and conversion of small structures as well as the Class 1 categorical exemption, which covers the modification and reconstruction of existing facilities. The project would not trigger any of the exceptions to the use of these categorical exemptions, which are outlined at Title 14, Chapter 3, Article 19, Section 15300.2 (Exceptions) of the California Code of Regulations.
