Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes a Director's Order project to perform necessary repairs at the Caples Lake Maintenance Station located at post mile 1.9 on State Route 88, in Alpine County. The scope of work includes repair of one boiler in the dormitory, replacement of two boilers at the equipment shop, and replacement of a leaking pipe. All work will occur in Caltrans Right of Way. The purpose of the project is to ensure the maintenance station has sufficient and functioning heating systems throughout the winter season. The project is needed to prevent the loss or impairment of life, property, or essential public services.
