Document Description
Crews will work on a 300-500 ft wide fuel break prescribed by the USFS around the lodges on USFS land. Brush and dead trees within the fuel break will be cut and chipped or piled for alter burning. Tree boles greater than 10 inches may be retained at no more than 3 per acre, scattered evenly across the site. Remaining trees will be limbed 10 ft from ground level or maintain 50% of the live crown if smaller than 20 ft in total height. This fuel reduction will aid in protecting the public from catastrophic wildfires as well as improving ingress and egress for emergency vehicles.
