Document Description
This project consists of replacing the deteriorated fiberglass filter troughs at CDMWTP with new stainless steel troughs. The filter troughs, in service since 1974, disperse water evenly over the top of filter media in each of six filters and remove water during backwash. Continuous exposure to water, sunlight, and treatment chemicals has caused chipping during periodic cleaning, and the problem will continue and worsen until the troughs are replaced. Replacement with stainless steel troughs will prevent debris from entering the filters, improve overall filter reliability, and ensure uninterrupted treatment at the facility.
