Document Description
Caltrans proposes replacing loop detectors at seven locations in Contra Costa County on Interstate (I-) 680 from post mile (PM) 13.68 to 18.70. The pavement will be cut with trench ground saws to allow inductive loops to be placed in the pavement. Existing electrical cabinets will be used to connect to the new loop detectors. Some project elements will occur off the paved roadway. Construction equipment to be used includes, but may not be limited to, asphalt concrete (AC) grinding and trenching rigs, trucks, sweepers, and hand tools. Construction is projected to begin in September of 2026. All work shall remain within Caltrans’ right of way (ROW) and equipment shall be staged within Caltrans’ ROW in areas absent of vegetation.
