Document Description
Caltrans proposes replacing guardrail along SR-9 from PM 2.30 to 2.50 per a request from the Santa Clara County Fire Department. About 75 feet of existing metal beam guardrail (MBGR) will be removed and then 30 feet of concrete barrier and 600 feet of Midwest guardrail system (MGS) with in-line treatment will be installed. Construction equipment to be used includes, but may not be limited to, excavators, jack hammers, guardrail/post drivers/dump trucks, flatbed trucks, concrete mixer trucks, compactors or rollers, traffic control equipment, and miscellaneous hand tools. Some project elements will occur off the paved roadway. One-way traffic control will be required during construction. Clearing of some grasses along the shoulder of the roadway will be required. Any damaged or removed pavement delineation will be replaced. Construction is scheduled to take place beginning August 15, 2026.
