Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes a reactive safety project on State Route 118 at the Westbound Hayvenhurst off-ramp in the City of Los Angeles, Los Angeles County. The proposed work includes upgrading the curb ramps to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act and installing a traffic signals. Six traffic signal poles are proposed for installation, a closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera system, and Accessible Pedestrian Signals (APS) that comply with current ADA standards with ADA compliant curb ramps and Leading Pedestrian Interval (LPI) features. Other additional work includes the addition of high-visibility crosswalk striping, update of existing striping and pavement markers, placement of loop detectors, installation of electrical controller cabinet and signal interconnection between the intersection of Hayvenhurst Ave and Rinaldi St, and the proposed traffic signal at Hayvenhurst Ave and Route 118 westbound offramp. These improvements will improve traffic safety, mobility, and pedestrian safety.
