Project proposes to construct a new, stable concrete foundation under the statue of the Miwok dancer at Indian Grinding Rock State Historic Park to eliminate the potential for the statue collapsing and to alleviate the potential hazards such a collapse would pose to visitors and park staff. Work will:
• Remove and temporarily relocate the statue and the rock around the existing concrete pedestal base;
• Use hand tools to remove the concrete pedestal and base and grade and level the area;
• Excavate up to 12-in. around the perimeter for forms for a new concrete pad;
• Pour a new 6-ft long x 6-ft wide concrete pad; and
• Reinstall the rock base, statue and sign.
