Document Description
The project involves preparing a study to develop adaptation strategies for sea level rise for Murray Field Airport, and an accompanying economic analysis. The Study will review economic impacts caused by sea level rise, flooding, and groundwater challenges. The Study will also consider flooding potential and prevention, consistency with adjacent land use, environmental impacts of further development, and consistency with community goals, and will include data collection, review of
existing and future drivers, and review of environmental documents. The Study will develop at least one alternative for each of four approaches: Nature Based, Green/Gray Hybrid, Retreat/Relocate, and Hard Armor. The Study will be informed throughout its development by the community engagement component of the project. The community engagement work will include at least one public workshop, community events, and outreach to and consultation with stakeholders, including airport users, local businesses, and the public. In addition, a technical advisory committee including federal, state, local agencies, and the Wiyot Tribe will provide
input and review for the Study.
