Notice of Exemption

Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
Class 1 (e) (f), Section 15301
Reasons for Exemption
The Project proposes to add a perimeter fence, gates, impact- rated bollards, and blast- resistant film to harden and enhance the security of LAUS, and a fence along LAUS’s frontage and around the northeast office building/Amtrak Building. Because the Project would be constructed and operated on an existing Metro-owned public facility and would not involve expansion of existing or former use beyond that, it qualifies for a Class 1 categorical exemption pursuant to CEQA.
