Document Description
The Conservancy action will be to execute a short-term license agreement with North Tahoe Fire Protection District to authorize hazardous fuel reduction on Conservancy owned parcels. The Conservancy’s grant of a license agreement will support but is not necessary for North Tahoe Fire Protection district’s forest health treatments to reduce wildfire risk, improve forest stand resilience, and enhance public safety along the Highway 89 evacuation corridor. Specific activities authorized by the license agreement include the hand thinning of small-diameter trees with chainsaws, removal of ladder and surface fuels with chainsaws and manual equipment, and construction of burn piles for later disposal on the four Conservancy Parcels.
