Work to specifically complete the proposed project would involve the installation of two (2) exterior illuminated reverse channel letters signs on the east and south facing walls, a vinyl sign, a flush mounted blade sign, and signage on the existing panel of the existing monument. The proposed illumination on the signage would not exceed 2700 Kelvins. Sign installations are anticipated to occur in Fall 2025, would take approximately three (3) days to complete and would require a crew of approximately two (2) workers. Equipment required to complete the proposed project would include a boom lift and hand tools. There would be no closures of the walkways during the installation period.
Due to its nature and limited scope, construction of the proposed project would generate a minor amount of vehicle trips and would require limited use of equipment. Therefore, impacts related to air quality, greenhouse gas emissions, and transportation and traffic are not anticipated to occur. Furthermore, the Tenant would be responsible for complying with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations regarding construction demolition debris, hazards and hazardous materials, stormwater, and historic resources.

Reasons for Exemption
Thee proposed project is determined to be Categorically Exempt pursuant to California Environmental Quality Act{CEQA) Guidelines Sections 15301 (Existing Facilities) and 15311 (Accessory Structures) and Sections 3.a. and 3.i. of the District's Guidelines for Compliance with CEQA because it is the installation of signage on an existing building that would involve no expansion of use beyond that previously existing and would not result in a significant cumulative impact due to the continuation of the existing use. Specifically, the proposed project would merely involve installation of exterior signage, and as such would not substantially alter the exterior appearance of the facility and would not materially impair the architectural integrity nor the historical significance of this historic resource. Therefore, the proposed project would not involve the physical demolition, destruction, relocation, or alteration of the resource or its immediate surroundings such that the significance of an historical resource would be materially impaired. Sections 3.a. and 3.i. of the District's CEOA Guidelines is as follows: 3.a. Existing Facilities (SG § 15301) (Class 1): Includes operation, repair, maintenance, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond that previously existing. AND/OR 3.i. Accessory Structures (SG § 15311) (Class 11 ): Includes construction, or placement of minor structures accessory to (appurtenant to) existing facilities. The District has determined none of the six exceptions to the use of a categorical exemption apply to this project (CEQA Guidelines Section 15300.2).
