Document Description
Caltrans proposes to perform pavement rehabilitation at the Winterhaven Agriculture Inspection Station in Imperial County on westbound I-8 at postmile R89.5 to replace the deteriorated pavement. The scope of work includes 1) Lanes #3 of 3 of main lane and lane # 1 and 2 of the ramp: Remove 0.40 ft of existing asphalt and replace with 0.40 ft of HMA-A with Large Stone Matrix, and 2) Lane # 1 of the ramp (15 ft × 10 ft section): Remove 0.60 ft of existing asphalt concrete, 0.60 ft of existing aggregate base, and 0.45 ft of aggregate subbase, then replace with 0.50 ft of Class 2 Aggregate Base 0.25 ft of HMA-A, and 0.90 ft of Jointed Plain Concrete Pavement (JPCP). All work will take place within the existing Agriculture Station pavement limits with no staging area available at the site. All work is within State Right of Way.
