Document Description
The project site is a 1.6 nuke corridor located in the City of Monterey Park along Monterey Pass Road from Floral Drive to the south and Garvey Avenue to the north. The Project is a Complete Streets Project which proposes to balance the needs of all modes of all transportation and users along the corridor. This includes the creation of safe infrastructure for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers. Transportation modes to consider for this Project include pedestrians, cyclists, commercial vehicles, and personal vehicles. Other considerations include supporting elements such as landscaping and beautification opportunities. The Project would improve interconnectivity between residential communities, schools, job centers, industrial and commercial areas along Monterey Pass Road and Floral Drive to the south and Fremont Avenue/Garvey Avenue to the north. The Project would include Class IV bike lanes, striping, crossings, improved traffic signals, and enhanced sidewalk and landscaping. The Project would also include the removal of one travel lane along the Project Site, which would promote the creation of safe infrastructure.
