Document Description
Caltrans approves of encroachment permit for Phillips 66 to abandon monitoring wells MW-7 and MW-8, located at the I-405 offramp at Carson Street postmile (PM) 10.57, outside of the Caltrans right-of-way, within the City of Carson, Los Angeles County. Traffic control measures within Caltrans right-of-way will include the placement of traffic signs, closure of the right-hand shoulder, and closure of the left-turn lane. Additionally, the destruction of monitoring well MW-12 will occur within Caltrans right-of-way. Related activities in this area will include utility locating using ground-penetrating radar, destruction of MW-12 in accordance with a plan approved by the Regional Water Quality Control Board, and resurfacing in compliance with Caltrans specifications. Excavation will reach a maximum depth of 12 inches, with an average width of 24 inches and a maximum length of 24 feet. No public utilities will be relocated, and no new right-of-way will be acquired for the project.
