Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-CCA-58445-R3, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Sacramento County Department of Transportation.
The project is limited to a geotechnical investigation of the Tyler Island Bridge Road Bridge to inform repair decisions and design. Bridge inspection reports have noted scour at the swing span piers; therefore, Sacramento County Department of Transportation will conduct geotechnical investigations to assess the subsurface conditions at the pier locations of the existing bridge. The investigation will include drilling three bore holes and conducting a cone penetration test near Piers 2 and 3, with a maximum depth of 120 feet below ground surface. All geotechnical investigations will be conducted from a barge or small watercraft that will be launched from an existing ramp and driven to the project area. No vegetation will be removed, and water diversion will not be conducted.
