Document Description
Caltrans is proposing to replace existing concrete barriers and tubular rails with chain link railing fence and concrete barriers at Mill Street Bridge (50.355) overcrossing with State Route 58. Some minor grading and vegetation removal will be required near the embankments for the bridgework. The purpose of this project is to enhance the safety of pedestrians and bike users traveling the bridge on Mill Street and enhance the safety for travelers on the highway 58 commuting under this bridge by constructing new barriers and chain link fence. The existing concrete barrier on Mill Street (Bridge # 50.355) is deteriorated and beyond maintenance repairs, due to several cracking and delamination. There are also several existing spoils with exposed rebars. Therefore, there is a need to complete replacement of the existing concrete barrier and the existing rail tubes with Type 736 Concrete Barrier and Chain Link Railing Type 7 Environmental studies for this project were originally completed in 2020 under a different project identification number (0919000044). All previously-completed studies and avoidance measures remain valid..
