Caltrans proposes to perform ramp pavement rehabilitation to remove 0.2’ of existing asphalt and replacing it with 0.2' of rubberized asphalt in San Diego on northbound I-5 at the Aux Lane from L Street to J Street at postmile 6.8. The scope of work will also include replacing the dike in kind, re-striping, refresh marking, and markers. This project is classified as preventative maintenance initiative aimed at extending the service life of the existing asphalt concrete pavement through the application of a rubber bonded wearing course (Type G) overlay. All work is within the existing ramp pavement limit and there will be no staging location. All work will occur in State right of way.
