Document Description
Verizon Wireless has requested approval of Use Permit 24-0004 construct, operate, and maintain an unmanned commercial wireless telecommunications facility. The proposed facility consists of a 129-foot-tall monopine tower with eleven (11) tower mounted antennas, including three (3) C-band antennas, six (6) LTE antennas, and two (2) microwave antennas, three (3) ground based equipment cabinets, an enclosed 30-kilowatt back-up diesel generator with a 210-gallon diesel fuel tank, a utility transformer, and other ancillary equipment, all within a 50-foot by 50-foot fenced ground lease area. The tower would allow for future colocation of additional antennas. Improvements proposed outside the lease area include underground utility connections to serve the facility and a gravel driveway, including replacement of an existing bridge crossing over a perennial creek that drains into Hatchet Creek. The applicant has also requested an exception from wireless telecommunication facility landscaping standards. The approximately 5-acre project site is located at 32656 State Highway 299 East, Montgomery Creek, CA, which is situated on the northern side of State Highway 299 East approximately 0.5 miles east of the intersection of Moose Camp Road and State Highway 299 East and is developed with a single-family residence and associated accessory structures (Assessor’s Parcel Number 027-160-046 as that APN is assigned for purposes of the 2025 Regular Assessment Roll).
