Document Description
Repair the failing retaining wall the West Pass Track Switch at Railtown 1897 State Historic Park to bring the walkways along the tracks into compliance and improve safety in the area train crews. Work will:
• Stabilize the remains of the existing retaining wall;
• Replace switch ties/headblocks as necessary;
• Use non-serviceable railroad ties to create a new retaining wall;
• Drive old boiler tubes into the ground to secure the rebuilt retaining wall; and
• Install tamped and compacted ballast between the retaining wall and switch ties.
