Document Description
LAWA proposes to reactivate the LAX Offsite Construction and Relocation (OCR) Yard (Proposed Project) in its existing location. The subject facility was previously used for offsite construction of building segments which were then transported to their permanent site. The OCR construction approach provides numerous benefits including, but not limited to, cost and time savings compared to the more traditional construction approach. LAWA seeks to use the subject construction approach on a temporary basis for other upcoming building projects planned at LAX, particularly as related to building projects proposed to be completed prior to the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles. The Proposed Project entails modifications, minor expansion, and restoration activities of the subject existing facility.

Class 1 Existing Facilities: The Project consists of minor modifications to, and negligible expansion of, an existing facility with no material change in the basic nature and function of the LAX OCR Yard from its former use.
Class 3 New Construction or Conversion of Small Structures: The Project includes the construction of a temporary single new bridge structure that will be removed following transport of the building segments.
