Document Description
As part of the project, Marin Transit would develop the site with a new building dedicated to District operations; visitor, employee, and bus parking; maintenance, charging, potential solar panel infrastructure; and fencing. The project will support both diesel-electric hybrid buses and electric buses, so a diesel refueling station will be included to service diesel-electric hybrid buses until the transition to an all-electric fleet. The project would include an 18,600 square-foot building in the approximate middle of the site. The southern side of the building would be dedicated to office space, a cash safe, two shower rooms, two restrooms, a breakroom, and a manager’s office. The northern side of the building would be dedicated to driver’s check-in, employee lockers, breakroom, and utility rooms such as main electricity room, mechanical room, janitorial closet, copy room, and a Main Distribution Frame room. Subsurface excavation of up to ten feet would occur to allow for the construction of the building foundation. The visitor parking lot would be accessible via the northeastern driveway and would provide up to 60 passenger parking spaces for employees and visitors. The project would provide up to 50 bus parking stalls being accessible via the Francisco Boulevard East driveway and would allow for both ingress and egress. The bus parking spaces would be dedicated to bus charging, with canopies possibly equipped with rooftop solar not to exceed 36 feet in height. The bus facilities area would be located between the proposed building and the employee/visitor parking on the southern portion of the site. The bus facilities would be enclosed. The facilities would include five bus maintenance bays, storage for parts and tires, a bus washing station, fare exchange, and vacuum island.
