This project focuses on reducing fuel loads around structures in the Hume Lake Community, with the goal of enhancing and expanding defensible space to protect infrastructure in high-hazard fuel zones, reestablish healthy habitat for local wildlife and contribute to the long-term forest health. Treatments include hazard tree removal, mechanical and hand fuel reduction of dead, dying, hazardous trees, limbing and brushing, pile burning, prescribed burning, cultural burning, invasive species removal, erosion mitigation, riparian improvements, habitat and stream restoration, native plantings, and reforestation.
