Document Description
Maintenance is undertaking a State-Funded operational improvement project in Humboldt County at Various Locations. The work encompasses the replacement of obsolete infrastructure components and associated electronics. Specifically, the project will involve replacing existing cabinets, traffic count devices, inductive loop detectors, and communication equipment. Additionally, the project includes the replacement of faulty electronics and switches within existing Changeable Message Sign (CMS) boards. All work activities will be confined to the existing State right-of-way and existing operational areas. Equipment staging will be limited to paved surfaces. Except for construction area signs, no soil or vegetation disturbance will occur outside the pavement limits, and no tree removal is anticipated. The HM-4 TMS Program targets technology lifecycle of the core TMS assets. The purpose of the project is to support the systematic overhaul of aging resources by replacing assets which are at the end of their lifecycle, using obsolete technology, or are in poor condition. This project will install census equipment upgrades and CMS repairs.
