Document Description
The propose<! project intends to repair an extent of the Araz Road between Interstate 8 and approximately 1.5 miles east of Interstate 8, approximately 3 miles east of the Townsite of Winterhaven. The project includes repairs to Bridge No. 58C0092 over the All American Canal, Bridge No. 58C0091 over the Araz Wash, and Bridge No. 58C0090 over the Araz Wash Overflow. These improvements follow the Public Service Announcement (PSA) issued on September 29, 2025, which closed Araz. Road from Interstate 8 to Winterhaven Drive, west of the Townsite of Winterhaven, to ensure public safety due to significant roadway scouring and damage to wingwalls, retaining walls, and guardrails caused by the severe storm event that impacted the area on September 27, 2025. Subsequently, on October 7, 2025, under Minute Order No. 21 , the Imperial County Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution declaring a state of emergency for damages sustained by multiple roads and bridges near the Townsite of Winterhave
