Document Description
Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District (District) proposes the installation of amenities including an equestrian hitching post and a series of interpretive sign panels along the Rock of Ages Trail in Thornewood Open Space Preserve (attachment 1). Four interpretive panels and one bitching post are proposed for installation. All amenities would be affixed to the ground with standard footings, requiring some minor digging. No major trenching or soil disturbance is anticipated. The installation location of these amenities exists in an area known to contain Slender false brome (Brachypodium sylvaticum), which is a noxious weed. Due to the wee.d's noxious designation, the project scope includes a management plan to prevent further spread of Slender false brome in the area. Any Slender false brome in the project area will be removed/controlled following District best management practices.
