Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-SMO-60288-R3, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Sims Metal. The project is limited to remediating sediments impacted by metals and low-level polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) in the immediate vicinity of the Port of Redwood City Wharf 3 ship-loading conveyor. Sediment remediation will be implemented in accordance with an established U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Consent Decree and as approved by the EPA. Sediment remediation will consist of two phases of work: diver-assisted sediment micro-dredging from a subtidal area in Redwood Creek and capping of an intertidal area in Redwood Creek with clean sand and gravel.
