Document Description
This project proposes to complete minor repairs and repaint the exterior of the historic B.F. Hastings building in Old Sacramento State Historic Park to protect and maintain the historic building.
Remove the wooden signage on the exterior of the building;
• Remove the deposit box and light, frame opening, cover with appropriate sheathing, patch masonry
with like/kind material in type and surface texture;
• Patch and repair any holes or cracks;
• Power wash the exterior walls and prime for painting;
• Repaint the exterior with a color matching the restoration timeframe;
• Repaint the iron shutters;
• Paint signage consistent with period of significance;
• Attach new custom wood door thresholds, add appropriate weatherstripping to doors and openings;
• Replace glass with tempered synthetic restoration glass, per code where necessary, and synthetic
restoration glass and quality window glazing on all other glass door panes; and
• Refinish the doors with a fresh faux finish resembling oak.
