Document Description
The Project consists of installing a new wrought iron fence and gates around the perimeter of the property to secure the property at the Agricultural Commissioner’s building. The Project includes two automatic gates and two pedestrian gates with keypad entry providing access to the employee parking area, which includes the installation of a new 20 AMP electrical line and either an internet service line to the gate or wireless internet. The project will include a new concrete driveway approach on the north end of the property line connecting to Laspina St. The project will also include landscaping and irrigation and other minor improvements to the existing parking lot.

Reasons for Exemption
This action is consistent with Section 15301 Class 1, Existing Facilities as the operation, repair maintenance, permitting, leasing, licensing, or minor alteration of existing public structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features. The project does not involve any expansion of existing use. The project will add safety devices for use in conjunction with existing facilities in the form of fencing and gates, which is consistent with Subsection (f). Further, the project is consistent with Subsection (d), which exempts restoration or rehabilitation of deteriorated or damaged structures, facilities, or mechanical equipment to meet current standards of public health and safety. Therefore, the application of CEQA Section 15301 (d) is applicable and appropriate for this Project.
