Document Description
LADWP is proposing to install a culvert on the Angeles National Forest to address ongoing issues with road flooding along access roads to the Adelanto-Toluca Line 1 transmission towers. Specifically, there is a turn along Forest Route 4N35, approximately 2,500 feet west of the North Fork Ranger Station, that repeatedly floods after rain events. The proposed culvert will be approximately 3 feet in width and 30 feet in length. The project scope of work will include the following: use a backhoe to place the culvert over the road, use a backhoe to obtain fill materials from within the existing ROW and fill over culvert, and compact the finished road. The estimated amount of fill material is approximately 5 cubic yards. No soil will be removed from the proposed culvert location. Temporary steel plates and other construction debris will be removed from the project location. The vehicle staging area will be at the North Fork Picnic Site in an upland area. The dimensions of the work area and grading will be 15 feet in width and 60 feet in length.
