This project is in Santa Cruz County on State Route (SR) 9, 0.1 miles south of Saratoga Toll Road at the San Lorenzo River Post Mile (PM) 19.2. The project proposes to replace a poor condition culvert with a free span bridge to remove the fish passage barrier at Waterman Gap in Castle Rock State Park. The scope of work includes replacing a 12-foot corrugated steel pipe (CSP) culvert with a 62 ft. – 5-inch free span bridge.

The purpose of this project is solely to restore anadromous fish access to 3.42 miles (5.50 km) of habitat accessible to anadromous salmonids through replacement of a poor condition culvert. The project does not exceed five acres in size and would not result in significant adverse impacts on endangered, rare, or threatened species or their habitat.
