Document Description
Westlands Water District (WWD) requests encroachment permission to replace a damaged pipe about 200 feet east of a WWD turnout. WWD will excavate an approximate 35 foot by 35 foot by 8-foot-deep area. The replaced pipeline and debris will be disposed off site. After installation, the area will be backfilled and graded. The repair is necessary to maintain the operations of the facility. This project will benefit WWD and State Water Project contractors

Reasons for Exemption
WWD requests encroachment permission to repair an existing pipe in the
DWR right of way to bring it to original design. The work will occur in an area with an average slope of less than 20 percent and will not result in any changes in land use or density. DWR, as the Responsible Agency, will issue an encroachment permit for this work. Categorical Exemption 15305 (b) (Minor Alterations in Land Use Limitations - Issuance of minor encroachment permits) applies.
