Document Description
As part of long-term planning efforts to improve rail infrastructure and prepare for future growth, the Port of Stockton Rail Replacement Bridge and Rail Improvements Project Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration (IS/MND) was adopted 9/21/2021 (Rail Infrastructure Project). As part of the rail enhancements, the acquisition of certain Right of Way and Easements (ROW) from private property owners is required. Acquisition must be completed prior to the initiation of the Rail Improvements Project.

The project consists of acquiring right-of-way and slope easements. The acquisition is a transactional action that will not result in a physical change to the environment. Environmental effects of the Rail Improvements Project were evaluated in the previously adopted IS/MND. The project is therefore exempt from CEQA under Section 15061 (b)(3), Common Sense Exemption.
