Document Description
Caltrans proposes repairing an eroded slope on Highway 1 that was caused by a storm event and the failure of a drainage ditch. The erosion is located on the east side of Highway 1, along the shoulder. The affected area is approximately 1100 square feet. The erosion has removed material from the slope, compromising both existing trees and the structural integrity of the slope. This condition poses a risk to the normal use of Highway 1 as a complete slope failure could lead to closure of this high-traffic route and potentially impact private residences located at the top of the slope. The work involves installing rock slope protection to stabilize the eroded section. Landscape erosion control measures will also be implemented to prevent further erosion. Traffic control will be required during construction.
