Document Description
Project proposes to install an irrigation system in the entrance area of Dos Rios to provide water to newly planted vegetation in the parking area. Currently the area is watered by hand, which is time-consuming and not a sustainable practice. Waterline piping will vary from ½-in. to 4-in. From the existing well work will: • Excavate a 3-ft x 12-in. x 3,800-ft long trench, with 2-in. of sand on the bottom, for use as a combined utility trench with electrical and water lines; • Connect a 4-in. SCH 40 PVC waterline pipe to an existing 2-in. galvanized pipe waterline; • Backfill the trench with native screened soil and compact with a J-Tamp; • Install all necessary irrigation control and shut off valves, tracer wire and utility tape for future utility improvement projects. • Install pop-up sprinklers, and drip line where needed; • Install buried boxes, set level with planting surfaces, for the valves and irrigation controllers; and • Fill the box bases with drain rock to deter burrowing rodents.
