Document Description
Project proposes to remove a failing storage shed at the Camp Host site (site #77) in the Oak Hollow Campground in Calaveras Big Trees State Park and construct a new larger shed to provide better storage for tools and supplies for the camp hosts and firewood and amenities for campers. Work will: • Remove and dispose of the existing, failing storage shed; • Cut down, remove and stump grind a 14-in. DBH white fir; • Excavate up to 8-in. deep to create a level area as a base for the new shed; • Excavate a 2-ft deep x 6-in. wide x 12.5-ft long trench from the new shed location to the existing electrical box and install electrical conduit and wire to supply power; • Construct an 8-ft long x 4-ft wide shed with T111 siding and metal roof and paint the exterior to match existing park facilities; and • On the north facing exterior wall, install a shower token machine and a 4-ft x 4-ft camper message/information board.
