Document Description
The project proposes to upgrade the existing HVAC system serving the dining room and bar in the St. Charles Saloon at Columbia State Historic Park to provide sufficient cooling and heating to allow for continued use of the building for visitor services.
Work will:
• Remove the existing evaporative cooler from the roof;
• Modify the ducting used for the old unit to serve as a chase for the new system’s wires and line sets;
• Install 6-inch rubber risers on the roof and set the new condenser unit on the risers;
• Connect the existing electrical to the new condenser;
• Inside the building, mount a new ductless air handler on the south interior wall of the dining room;
• Construct a removeable box cover to match the historic walls and trim;
• Cover any visible tubing on the interior walls with tubing covers; and
• On the exterior, use Cover Guard covers to conceal power and set lines.
