Reasons for Exemption
Pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), this project is eligible for a categorical exemption per Section 15302 (Replacement or Reconstruction) of the CEQA Guidelines for a project involving demolition and reconstruction of an existing single-family dwelling. As described above, and included in Attachments D and E, the prepared historic assessments have concluded that the property is not a historical resource as defined in CEQA Guidelines Section 15064.5(a). Therefore, the project is exempt pursuant to a categorical exemption, and the application of that categorical exemption is not barred by one of the exceptions set forth in CEQA Guidelines Section 15300.2.
