Document Description
This project involves replacement of the existing three single-phase 60kV–2.4kV transformers and associated equipment at BCID's Substation No. 1 with one new three-phase 60kV–12.47kV transformer and associated equipment, all within the current substation footprint. In addition, a spare/backup three-phase 60kV–12.47kV transformer will be installed adjacent to the existing transformer pad. The spare/backup installation will expand the substation footprint by less than 8,000 square feet.

Reasons for Exemption
The project is exempt under CEQA Guideline § 15302 as it involves replacing existing transformers and associated equipment within the existing Substation No. 1 footprint with new equipment of the same purpose and capacity. In addition, a spare/backup transformer will also be installed adjacent to the existing transformer pad, adding less than 8,000 square feet to the existing Substation No. 1 footprint. The project will be located on the same site as the replaced equipment and will involve a negligible expansion of capacity to Substation No. 1.
