Document Description
Department of Water Resources (DWR) Project Geology will evaluate tectonic activity of the Waterman Canyon Fault that could impact safe operations of the Devil Canyon Penstocks. Test pits will be excavated with a backhoe less than 4 ft deep, 3 ft wide, and 10 ft long. Sediment samples will be obtained using hand augers and hand tools for luminescence age dating and/or to determine soil development via lab analysis. Sample tubes are 8-10 inches long and 1-1.5 inches in diameter. All access and work is within DWR right of way.
