Document Description
The proposed project ("Project") will consist of the installation of new landscaping, including the replacement of existing conventional landscaping with water efficient native trees and shrubs and landscaping, grading land with a slope of less than 10 percent, filling of earth into previously excavated land with material compatible with the natural features of the site, and installation of a drip irrigation system for the landscaping. The Project will also include the installation of an Americans with Disabilities Act ("ADA") accessible trail to assist students with disabilities in accessing the planting sites.

Reasons for Exemption
This Project is exempt pursuant to CEQA Guidelines, Title 14 of the California Administrative Code, sections 15301, 15303 and 15304 which provides exemption of projects comprising minor alteration of existing facilities involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond, new construction of small facilities or structures, and minor alterations to land, including gardening or landscaping. Moreover, the Project will not cause a substantial adverse change in the significance of a historical resource. The Project will not involve the use of significant amounts of hazardous substances. The subject Property is not located in an area of statewide, regional, or area-wide concern identified in CEQA Guidelines Section 15206(b)(4). The project is not subject to any of the exceptions to exemption set forth in CEQA Guidelines section 15300.2.
