The California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC), pursuant to authority granted under California Code of Regulations (CCR), Title 22, Division 4.5, Chapter 20, Sec. 66270.61, has issued an Emergency Permit to Picarro Inc., (EPA ID# CAL000383774) to treat hazardous waste through a controlled reaction with a chemical solution. Specifically, one (1) 1-liter container of Dipropylene Glycol Methyl Ether; one (1) 5 milliliter (mL) container of Cyclohexene; one (1) 1-mL container of Butoxyethanol; one (1) 100-mL container of Ethyl Ether; one (1) 5-mL container of Dimethyoxypropane; one (1) 1-mL container of Diethylene Glycol Dimethyl Ether; one (1) 1-mL container of Isopropyl Ether; one (1) 100-mL of Dimethoxymethane; one (1) 1-mL container of Ethylene Glycol Monomethyl Ether; one (1) 5-mL container of Acetaldehyde; one (1) 25-mL container of Dimethyl Furan; one (1) 1-mL container of Furan; one (1) 100-mL container of Cyclopentene; one (1) 5-mL container of Tetrahydrofuran; one (1) 5-mL container of Ethylene Glycol Monobutyl Ether; one (1) 100-gram (g) container of Methacrylic Acid; one (1) 100-g container of Acrylic Acid; one (1) 1-mL container of Butyl Acrylate; one (1) 5-mL container of Cyclohexadiene; one (1) 5-mL container of Dimethyl Acrylamide; one (1) 100-mL and two (2) 1-mL containers of Isorpene; and one (1) 5-mL container of Styrene must be stabilized prior to transport to an authorized hazardous waste treatment, storage, and disposal facility. These chemicals are currently being stored at Picarro Inc. located at 3105 Patrick Henry Drive, Santa Clara, California 95054. DTSC has determined as a safety precaution to prevent an accident or severe injury, an Emergency Permit should be issued to chemically stabilize the hazardous waste prior to storage and eventual transportation off-site.
