Document Description
The project proposes to replace deteriorating Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) slabs on the mainline, grind all lanes, cold plane and overlay Asphalt Concrete (AC) shoulders, entrance and exit ramps, construct JPCP ramp termini at exit ramps, construct approach slabs at Magnolia Avenue UC, upgrade existing Metal Beam Guard Rail (MBGR) to Midwest Guardrail System (MGS), upgrade curb ramps to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards, replace roadside sign panels, rehabilitate lighting, restore Transportation Management System (TMS) elements, add green-color pavements for bike lane on La Sierra Ave OC, and Pierce St UC, provide enhanced-visibility crosswalks at ramp intersections.

This project consists of upgrade irrigation systems, highway planting and roadside rehabilitation, erosion control, paving beyond the gore, repair/replace fences and gates, and construct new maintenance vehicle pullouts which falls under Categorical Exemption- Class 1. Class 1 consists of the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, leasing, licensing, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of existing or former use.
