Document Description
Caltrans proposes to upgrade existing conditions to accommodate for ADA compliance and safety standards for crosswalks at the intersection of SR 111 and Cole Boulevard in Imperial County, CA. The project consists of the installation of curb ramps and crosswalk striping for ease of use and safety for pedestrians (north portion only). The project consists of the removal of existing striping as needed, installation of 4 curb ramps per Detail A of Standard Plan A88A, and installation of 4 continental crosswalks and limit lines. For crosswalks on SR 111, Type R Markers will be installed per Wrong Way Detail. Other activities include the relocation of loop detectors as needed, and the relocation of pedestrian push buttons as needed per ADA Section 4E of CA MUTCD. Signal timing will be adjusted to accommodate LPI (signal operations to recommend timing).
