Document Description
The City of South Lake Tahoe (City) initiated the current Airport Master Plan update in 2023, with funding support from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), to determine the current and future potential of the Lake Tahoe Airport (Airport). The Airport Master Plan identifies a series of airside and landside improvements to the Airport that would occur over an approximately 20-year period. Implementation of the Airport Master Plan (proposed project) would include reconstruction of the ground service equipment (GSE) facility, remediation and demolition of the former air traffic control tower (ATCT), incorporation of a proposed bike path onto airport property, development of four additional box hangars with new taxilane and automobile access, installation of an airport electrical vault, construction of an airport parking garage, installation of an electric aircraft charging station, removal and reconstruction of taxiway connectors, relocation of the automated surface observing system (ASOS), adjustment of parallel taxiway pavement width, removal of excess pavement and construction of new blast pads, and installation of a new aircraft wash rack.
The Lake Tahoe Airport is located in the City of South Lake Tahoe.
